Shortly after the 2022-2027 administration commenced leadership of the South Atlantic Conference, it was providentially brought to our attention that there was no mechanism in place to maintain communication with our retired workers or a plan to follow-up with surviving spouses of deceased denominational employees. It was also found that some children of both inactive, deceased, or currently active employees sometimes feel disconnected from the organization to which they and their loved ones have given much of their lives. This reality is by no means limited to South Atlantic Conference.
The conference administration acted to remedy the unintentional oversight of these felt needs among our ranks, presenting a proposal to the Conference Executive Committee to create this new and vital ministry to the intended benefactors. Those who have heeded to call of Jesus to serve His people includes pastors, educators, healthcare administrators and staff, conference and union and General Conference administrators and directors, support staff, and so many others.
Legacy Ministries is an inclusive ministry that is open to participation by all specified persons from anywhere in the world who hold membership in a church in the South Atlantic Conference. Participation is granted and encouraged regardless of whether they were employed by our conference or not, as long as they have served the denomination.
We value the legacy that you and your families have left throughout the span of your sacrificial service to God's cause through the Church. Thank you for your service!

Calvin B. Preston / Conference President
